Method

    Heat a sandwich press or heavy skillet over medium heat.

    Spread mustard inside the bread. Layer Swiss, ham, roast pork, pickles, and another layer of Swiss.

  3. 03

    Close the sandwiches and butter the exteriors. Press for 4 to 6 minutes, or cook in a skillet under a heavy pan, flipping once, until the bread is deeply crisp and compressed and the cheese melts.

  4. 04

    Cut diagonally and serve hot.

  5. 05

    Tip: Miami-style Cuban sandwiches do not traditionally include salami.
