Method

    Heat a sandwich press or heavy skillet over medium heat.

    Spread mustard inside each bread portion. Layer Swiss, ham, Genoa salami, roast pork, pickles, and more Swiss.

    Close and butter the exteriors. Press 4 to 6 minutes, or cook under a weighted skillet and flip once, until the bread is crisp and compressed and the cheese melts.

    Cut diagonally and serve hot.

    Tip: The Tampa-style Cubano is distinguished by the addition of Genoa salami.
